Rain

A perfect day on the Frozen Tundra, heavy overcast, no wind, temps in the 50's and a few sprinkles so far. The real rain is due around noon. Also a good day to fight fires as a fire broke out yesterday afternoon high in the hills on the east side of the river. A tough place to fight a fire and a damned strange place for one to start. It might have been lightning caused and smoldered for a couple of days before taking off. Or it could have been idiot caused, either way today's and tomorrow's rain will really help.

It barely got under the trees at my place. I have a rhody under there I am going to have to water...again. I was just thinking how I would like to see more rain and it started up a bit again. (y)

A friend and I took a hike into one of our favorite lakes today - Rod with his machete and me with my Japanese Kama. We cleared out a place for launching our float tubes. After clearing the tules/reeds, we decided to go for a bit more of a hike through the shrub steppe scabland. I could see huge cumulus to the north and a black cloud storm cell headed our way. 25 minutes and about 2.1 miles I made it back to my truck - ten minutes later and I would have been soaked. It POURED. Lightning, thunder, hail, intense rain. So cool (literally), the temperature dropped ten degrees almost immediately.

I drove into the storm cell on the way home. Won't have to wash my truck for awhile.

First you get 3 days close to 90⁰...
Good days to hole up and hide
:)

Those temps are too warm, thanks but I'll pass on that.
89⁰ here currently, which is also too warm...

I guess the one saving grace is the days are getting shorter, so the afternoon / early evening heat is fading out quicker each day.
I’d still prefer 70° and some clouds, but you already know that. 😉😂
