Rain

Got enough big drops to make me clean the windshield but not enough to rinse it off or even make the garden look wet here in PA. So much for the prognostications for a rainy PM. We are now on a water use alert with no good changes in sight.

Rained hard this morning. Felt so good. Then clouds parted, sun came out, got really muggy, quickly got hot and any water that came down evaporated immediately. :censored::(

Wasn't shit for rain here...
May as well have been a Tuesday

Tuesday? πŸ˜‚
Hopefully it happens to so a bunch of the slime rockets get sucked out of the salt….

Thunder storm nite before last West of Sutherlin, OR
Heavy showers lots of lighting started fires and folks running for their lives as those 30 plus fires race up and down the canyons along the Umpqua river.
We sure could use some rain without the lighting here in Southern Oregon

We need rain for:

relieving us from watering everyday
cooling down lakes and rivers so we can fish more without stressing the fish
reduce chances for more fires
help knock down existing fires
reduce sun exposure which causes skin cancers

But most importantly ---> improve our attitudes and mental health knowing some of the best times fishing will soon to be upon us (hopefully).

We can only hope.
I have friends that are having to evacuate their home as I speak.

It is currently sprinkling lightly here, not enough to be measurable, but water is falling.
Keep hope alive !!!!

The cool weather and thick marine layer is sweet this morning. The 90's are not my favorite temps.
If it clears ofc and hits 73 or so about 3 pm, it will have been a nice day.
:)

95 predicted today for a high but a rapid drop to a high of 60 on Wednesday with a 90% chance of rain. Nighttime temps in the high 40's/ to low 50's-camping weather! Last week I checked out a lake at about 3,500' on a warm day and the surface was alive with rising fish. Two weeks earlier my granddaughter and I hiked around the lake and on the way back saw lots of fish rising although the air temp was 91. My guess is that after several cool nights and some cool rain there should be some good fishing on Thursday. I'm gonna find out...

In the winter there is a certain gray that looks like snow clouds.
One can almost smell the snow in the air.

Well right now there is a certain gray that looks like rain clouds.
I can certainly smell the rain in the air.
The smell of fresh, cool air is addicting as well as more than welcomed.

Looking forward to Thursday/Friday to go fishing. Cooler temps, cooler water, fish know that fall/winter is coming and they will be eating up everything in sight in preparation. No need to indicator fish because all indications are they will be moving up in the water column going after anything that wiggles. Sight fishing at its finest...

Light rain most of the day. Unfortunately I just heard some thunder. We do not need that for sure...

15 minutes later a down pour now with constant thunder. We need the rain so I can replace watering plants with mowing the lawn. I prefer mowing once a week to watering daily.

Been a line of thunderstorms all day out here, north south band just keeps producing.
I call it the stonedfish effect...
Hit and miss for me, but lots of power outages and good downpours. Under a storm warning since 1pm.
