Fished with @KFCDAVE this morning. Went 2-2 with a few missed grabs in the mix. Slow start and then it turned on, nicely.

Been finding some good coho out on the beaches this week. A mix of hatchery and unclipped hatchery. Nice to see 6 and 7 pounders in the mix on top of the usual 4 pound rezzies.

2-4 this morning. I’ve been putting a lot of hours in since late July, so the freezer is looking pretty good. Kept the first fish of the day but let a second keeper go to look for a better fish. Had a couple more shots but was coho Houdini’d by both. Tomorrow’s another day…

Seeing lots of pics of coho recently. Numbers must be okay. Weather is definitely changing next week, which should only bring more. Here we go!

Last weekend the beach I had fished had millions of sandlance all over the place and literally hundreds if not thousands would be littered throughout the sand after getting stranded at low tide. Something I’ve observed before but never in the numbers I’ve seen.

Came back to the same exact spot 5 days later and not one sandlance seen! Of course it comes the day I bring some sandlance patterns. I’m not well versed in bait behavior. Anyone know how there could be millions in shallow water and then nothing the next week? I assume they all headed deep. Maybe for feeding?

Without knowing their lifecycle, sounds more like spawning behavior to me.

Good number of hookups this morning but only two landed. One wild, one hatchery. Was felled by a broken hook point today like @KFCDAVE. The others lost due to coho being coho.

Went 0-1 today again. Overslept the morning window (alarm was set to weekdays) and still decided to try. Right at slack tide when all the grass moved in I had a good fish eat right at the rod tip, but it shook once then came off.

Had a good one today, lots of fish, 2 mature, 4 resident, similar number of SRC and one small perch...lost one jumping coho, which was sorta fun. Then the rain rolled in...
