PNW Fly Fishing Semi-Official Swap, Shop, Fish & Eat - May 17, 2025

Unfortunately an unforeseen house project had to be scheduled on May 16th, which means I won't be able to leave NV till the 20th...I have prepaid for a camping site, I'm donating the site to anyone else that wants to attend. I really wanted to come and meet a few of the members here...

AND I WANTED SHIMANO JIG RODS... (Well, I mean to add to the collection of a half dozen that I already have)

Is anyone planning to bring instruments and sit around the campfire banging out a few songs? If so, I’ll bring my bass and a little battery powered amp.

a'ight fine....I'll bring my loudspeaker with my music all queued up to something everyone can enjoy like Slipknot or something like that. Middle of the group site can be a makeshift pit....

Ok, if I'm gonna be completely honest, I usually prefer my camping to be music free. Totally get that with a larger group, that may not jive with everyone, but that's where I stand.....fine with a little bit of acoustical excellence, but when I start hearing about a full band potential (over exaggeration a little, I know) I start to cringe a little.

Not that I hate it. Or even dislike it. That's just how I typically roll when I camp. Anyway, just throwing that out there....and I realize that the group site is a little ways away from the rest of the campground, I also think it's important to respect them as well (even if it's not reciprocated).

A'ight, off my dumb little soapbox.

I won't spoil anyone's fun but I'll join you for quiet camp 😂

Yeah I'm kind of with you. I never have a boom box or the like camping. I'd prefer acoustic instruments or just conversation. On the other hand, there might be some really great musicians among us!

So...
Do I bring the drummer or not ?
Being that he's a drummer he doesn't have a car, so will need a ride.
😁

😁
only if they've got a double bass

No way...
No drum circles, hacky sack, or vegan burritos for me...
:)

look, all I'm sayin', in general, music while camping is just not my jam....(not sayin' that was what was initially brought up, so, sorry about that @Phil K ...your post just got me thinking in a broader sense).

I'm with Evan in that I'm not gonna rain on anyone's parade, but I do think these types of things should be at least discussed with a big group....most of whom have not camped together prior to this.

Speaking for me—I am no good. I won’t subject you to any of the half dozen campfire ready pop songs I can mostly remember, usually.
