Official 2026 MLB Discussion Thread

NFL preseason football is on TV again Saturday...where players are actually trying...even if theyre not the best players ...they're trying as hard as they can for a shot at life changing money for them and their family..
If you're a PRO sports fan, you can watch players who actually put out the effort when playing.

Just sayin' here...

That 9th inning Cards vs Reds today was interesting to say the least.
Couldn’t tell who wanted to give the win to the other side the most. 😳😳😳

And another game in which we had an infield player take the mound as a relief pitcher.

Next we’ll bring back John Mabry as a pitching coach!
Ya it sucks, but I'll take a series win with a shellac'ing in game 3 over a series loss with 3 competitive games... and so would the Cubs if they could spin that old Cher album and 'turn back time.' The M's are actually doing better in this stretch against tough teams than I expected AND they've closed the gap on the division lead by 1 game. But, ya, I get it: on the wrong end of 2 epic blowouts in a week...seriously?

I'm actually more optimistic about the M's winning the west than I have been since the break:
  • Cal is starting to barrel up and drive balls through the infield and out the park
  • Kade Anderson could replace a struggling Kirby or Miller, or provide a piggy back option.
  • Injured players are returning: Crawford, Donnovan and Matt Brash
  • Their Sept. schedule is soft (other than the Bosox) and they have series with Texas and Houston that will be pivotal.

Currently up in Seattle. My Airbnb hostess got back from the Mariners game just prior to us arriving...she was not pleased. 😆...

Meanwhile, as I'm sure many of you are asking, those amazing young Royals have won 8 in a row, and 9 of 10 ...
Those amazing young Royals have a pretty big hill to climb, but it's baseball and dang near September. If you're not out mathematically you could be in. Best of luck, unless they face the Mariners.
