Let’s start a trout spey thread

I live about an hour away so I guess I’ll go when I get tired of these underwhelming skiing conditions in Tahoe. Are you doing a trip out there?
It's on the bucket list. Seems the best times to go are during steelhead season or during my Nov-Jan work season. If steelhead season gets canceled I'll definitely make the run

My club had a presentation from a fellow member who has fished Pyramid over 500 days over the years, quite knowledgeable. He prefers winter but can be good in spring and one of the most knowledgeable has a video of the seasons. Good information:

I caught a white fish swinging nymphs on my 2wt trout Spey in Wyoming. That was a first. I know whities love a bead head nymph but I didn’t know they’ll chase em. Anyone getting into some trout Spey shenanigans?

Years of guiding taught me that whities love a "drift free drag". So finding success swing a bead head ain't no surprise. Try a bead head Prince for the ultimate in Spey for whitefish.

It’s that time again! The swinging has been pretty good. The Yakima is the lowest I’ve ever seen it this time of year but there are some nice fish out there.

"Just a swinging" hit the Yak Tuesday evening. 4 hours and 6 landed all 16 to 18 inches. Skulpzilla did the trick. 11.6, 3wt, 250grain Skagit, 7ft fast sink leader.

That’s awesome! I’ve been swinging The Yak from Monday tell yesterday I can’t seem to get enough. I’m actually thinking about going again today😂 these have been working well.

I needed some unweighted swing flys for fishing a Skagit. I like to run T3 - T8 with unweighted flys. I’ve solely been fishing a Scandi as of late, I’m thinking it’s time to switch it up. Anyway this is what I came up with.

Not sure why my pictures post weird…

Picked up a 4wt trout spraypole and broke it in today. The 4wt was a bit over kill there, probably better off with a 3wt but it should be perfect for some west side rivers I fish. The water is/was insanely low, didn’t really need the watermaster.

Does anybody here own an Airflo Scout head in the 150gr and or 180gr model...and have the ability to measure the diameter of the tip (just above the provided loop)?

New to this site, I use to live in Washington for 60 years and how in Boise area. I fish trout spey 98% of my fishing. It would be awesome to have that here on this site.

I love this time of year! I went out for a couple hours this morning to swing up some trout. Took the Meiser 12’6” 5wt and used a 375gr Skagit max short with 10’ of T8 and my version of a Daves panic button. It worked😬 one of them was a slab, it may be one of the biggest I’ve ever caught in the canyon.

For those that are weird about trout spey. Let’s see what you got! All things trout spey, and the love of swinging flys. Rods, reels, flys, fish pics.

And….go.
Does anyone have experience with Echo Trout Spey rods in 2 or 3 weight? I am considering buying one of these.
