here's the important part....

Maybe just maaaybe, ancient Clarkman ancestors were responsible for mammoth extinction due to over harvest for fly materials. I imagine those stone age musky were nothing to toy around with. Possibly a cult started where the fly shamans tied larger and larger musky flies until the mammoths were no more!

Could this be the beginning of a real life sequel to The Feather Thief?

Yeah, but to be perfectly fair to Mr Clark, I also immediately saw awesome tying material. Albeit in the form of squid flies. Looks similar to nayat.

I dunno though, the way the researcher is holding that perfect bunch of hair makes me think that they're a fly tier themselves and probably would get the AAA stuff. By the time it gets to me, I'd probably be looking at B-side material....but still, I want some!

They even gave it nice taper before holding it in a way that shows its relative stiffness. Put me on the list.

I KNOW!

PI: hey what happened to all of these hairs containing potentially life changing DNA?

fly tying researcher: 🤷‍♂️....hey look 👉

I know I do.

If corgis make excellent clousers and tube flies, why not a mammoth?
I need to get another Sptinger...fuck these Labs! Kidding...obviously (hopefully).

Run a slicker brush over a black lab and you’ve got legs and tails for days. Yellows are good for sulphur, and can make a serviceable caddis x.
X caddis? Wtf? I thought you knew me!

I'm guessing those suggestions are trout oriented? Gross!
