NFR Humor (No political jokes)

Non-fishing related
You have a non-elected multi billionaire immigrant going to a state far from where he lives wearing a cheesehead hat and writing million dollar checks to people he doesn't know in an effort to sway a judicial election. And he got his ass handed to him by the everyday people of Wisconsin. I prefer to laugh with the results than to cry over the fact that his antics are even considered acceptable let alone legal.
I am right there with you! My issue is that I really appreciate this one online space where I can discuss flies and fishing (and food, etc.) with people who have very different political views than me. I think humor and ridicule is one of the best ways to counter authoritarianism. But I am afraid that when we start poking fun at the things we see in our politics today on this site, it will drive some people away or end up degenerating into "mostly say hooray for our side" tribalism and sniping.

Sad to think about how many "live edge stump accent tables" I busted up and stacked as a kid when I could have been selling them for $100 per.

That wouldn't be everyone's preference for sure. Don't let politics kidnap your sense of humor, you are going to need it later.
There is already adequate dark humor here Even if I did “get”what somof ya were conveying.

Back in Vermont some friends used to cut white birch, make pretty bundles of three fireplace length logs bound by a red ribbon, drive them to MA, CT, and NY, and sell them to flatlanders for exorbitant prices.

The American dream is alive.
A sucker is born every minute.

The pocket knife thread is a great example.
