Best band half out of Idaho? Halo Benders

Their version of Virginia Reel Around the Fountain is awesome with Calvin Johnson's weird baritone voice singing with Doug Martsch's higher pitch.

<cringing as I push play>

So, here's my favorites beer list.
1. Yeungling Classic Lager
2. Pelican Tsunami Stout, from the Pelican Brewery, Pacific City, OR.
3. Ninkasi Total Domination
4. Ninkasi Wunderbier
5. Ninkasi, their stout.
6. Fish Tale, Viscious Circle
7. Narrows Brewery Giant Pacific Octopus. (Their IPA)
8. Lagunitas Little Dumpling.
9. And, not sure if this is the brewery name or the style, but; Wheaton Woot Stout

Honorable mention would be Killians Irish Red and Sam Adams Original.

Just please don't ask me for my opinion on what's considered "music" today.

Oh man, it appears you have a very good taste in beers. You should try some Working Hands out of Hood River........

fav beers in no particular order:

Vitamin R
Manny's Pale Ale
Deschutes Twilight
Chuckanut Pilsner
Pilsner Urquel
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale

Other topics:
I agree with Evan on the bubblegum country. It's difficult for me to listen to. It does not resonate with me in the same way that boneless skinless chicken breast is my least favorite type of chicken.

Best newer bands:

There is a song in my head every waking moment. My mind has been playing Goose on a loop for almost 3 years. I enjoy improvisational music but not exclusively. Goose has taken up shop and been playing the song in my head like no other jam band since the Dead/ JGB had their run when my kids were little.

There does seem to be some good country music to be found if you look as well. The genre seems to lend itself to fantastic songwriting. Waylon filled my brain for a few years with Willie. It would be great top have another run of country.

I just returned from a surf trip to Costa Rica/Southern Nicaragua, chasing a really solid southern hemisphere swell. Size + power.

Spending all day in the water, few things better than climbing into the boat after the last surf of the day, reaching into the cooler and pulling an ice cold Imperial Light. It may not be a premium beer per se, but in the moment it tastes pretty great.

Given the boat reference, does that mean you hit Ollies and Witch's? We go to Playa Grande every February as a home base but it's small wave season then so we haven't made it up there yet. Plus, I suck on rights even more than usual.

More of a coors light guy & personally think Kid Rock is kinda annoying.
It's remarkable how fired up some people get about a silly commercial. I thought we were all about free speech? But then people say shit and everyone's all up in arms and boycotting. I don't get it.

That said, Bud Light used to have the best commercials. Real men of genius was fantastic.

Pfriem Pilsner, Pfriem Helles, Living Haus Helles... I like my German style lagers.
Pfreim makes a damn good IPA too. On tap at the Oswego Grill and a delicious slow roasted prime rib with bacon wrapped stuffed cheese jumbo prawns. At least back in 16’. Looking forward to going back. Also was introduced to the Boneyard Brews there in 2014.

The brewer responsible for those good pfriem beers, Gavin, opened his own place called Livin Haus last year. I think it's a step up from even his pfriem stuff. Dude just plain does amazing beer.

Ollie’s hasn’t been as good for the past years after the estuary got kind of messed up, but yes - we hit it for a session on one of the days. We also surfed Witch’s and some other reefs in that general area. Wind was offshore - howling at times - all day for every day, but plenty of swell in the water so… good times :)

Playa Negra area was also pretty good.

Life’s too short for crappy beer. For those of you in Snohomish County don’t pass up Skookum and Three Bull. Both brew some first class ales. And Sound to Summit has some good ones too. All three are dog friendly!

Pacifico with a lime
Fremont Lush is damn good
Laurelwood working horse
Level makes some good ones too.

But I’m with floats; working hands is top notch.
