We just catered a rehearsal dinner at my place, and a lot of the guests were from Texas and the east coast. It was fun watching their astonishment and answering their questions. "What the hell is a Schwarzbier?" "What makes it a "cold" IPA?" "Why does the head on my Helles take up half the glass?" I at least got to sound smart for a little while.

Most of my East Coast friends know basic beer stuff. They are Northeasterners rather than Southeasterners or from the coast less portions of the Eastern US. There is a pretty solid beer culture in much of the actual East Coast. It seems as you head away from salt water it is not as prevalent.

I do like some country music. It is about the only genre that ever talks about fishing in a positive way. Fishing, hunting, family, nature, friendships, country life, etc.

From old school, like John Denver (country road, rocky mountain high, I'm a coutry boy, ...) to Willie Nelson (river boy) to Alabama (Mountain music, ...) to some new stuff from guys like Morgan Wallen (Need a boat,...) and Thomas Rhett (more time fishing, ...).

Some of the songs are silly/funny, others are reflective and talk about how fishing grounds you and helps you remember what is really important in life - especially when it comes to fishing with a good friend or your dad/grandpa.
