Generally the last place I wanted to be was inside, around my alcoholic parents. As a boomer kid in the 1950's early 1960's there were shitloads of kids to play with in the neighborhood.I agree, these kids nowadays would not survive the 50's and 60's when ,and where I grew up . It was survival of the fittest .It was outside from sunup to sundown if the weather didn't chase us indoors .

What little league sports don’t have winning and losing?I agree. But you also have to bring back scoring and winning and losing in little league sports. Trophy for everyone is ruining ability to deal, accept, cope, reflect, adjust, overcome, adapt, improvise, improve, and find a way to navigate life.

Back in my day this thread would've been locked, but not until after the OP was roasted like a suckling pig over an open fire for not puttin' a cap or three in ol' Karen's ass, and at least 100 comments were made about everything from your Mom to your ability to sack up, along with vague comments alluding to unspeakable acts with farm animals and unbranched family trees resembling 2 x4's.
The thread would have gone from zero to 9 pages in about 45 minutes, and been reported to the mods seven or eight times by those of such weak and frail constitution that in no way, shape or form should they even be allowed on the internet. Those who were given swirlys in Junior High, those picked last for any sports team, and those who were crossing guards or hall monitors in school...and then there's always those so easily offended that simply pointing out how easily offended they are, offended them.
Then, after locking the thread, there would be the usual not so subtle threats of time outs or banning by the mods. ....And then it would start up again with the next thread.
