We will just stay here in Walla Walla, ~85% OK with me. We caught the last total in our area before. My wife had me dig out the glasses last week, although I prefer the old transit and solar filter. Should be a fun morning viewing. 8:00 to 11:00 I believe..

We have the potential to view the eclipse from our deck at our place near Lincoln City. Unfortunately, I see clouds and rain in the forecast, at least on the Oregon Coast.
I was fortunate to photograph an annular eclipse at sunset back on May 20, 2012 while storm chasing in West Texas. Because it was so low on the horizon, we didn't need to use protective glasses... it was way cool!

Fog at our place just a bright disk masked by fog and trees out back.
HF radio propagation in the morning WA OR ID ECOMM net was interesting; kind of opposite from the normal experience. As the sun came up, the critical frequency of ionospheric F2 layer (foF2) and maximum usable frequency (MUF) numbers went down. Moving to a higher frequency channel did not cause as much near station fading, and propagation with distant stations got better for a time.

Was lucky I chose to drop in today, the clouds played nice and I got some good viewing.

8:37, the skies seemed to turn a bit orange, and are there cows mooing, something weird is happening.

9:10 It's getting cold and I'm peaking, I mean it's peaking.
9:45, Everything seems fuzzy, best head out.
Now I need some sleep, but the games on soon. Does this count as a relapse? Great morning, glad it worked out. Go Dawgs.

I was encouraged to see the sun rising underneath the cloud cover this morning. Just as the eclipse was starting, the sun also reached the thickening clouds. A little while after that, it got dim in a funny orangey way for a bit. The clouds pretty much ruined it here.
