My guess without looking too deep into the news feeds, they are either commercial or u.s. military operators.

I was listening to one of the mayor's that was briefed by the Government today being interviewed on a major network. He said the Government knows nothing at all except something is happemimg. You may be correct about U. S. military.

The good book says soooo..... some interpret it that way.

One of my Aunts believes this 100%, thinks dinosaur bones where put in the ground by the devil to tempt mankind into sin.

I kid you not!

Then again she thinks the fat cheeto is the greatest thing since....

Well cheetos. :ROFLMAO:

To be fair, I forgot about those things and gotta admit I remember them being pretty tasty. At least for a food product with a half-life of 10,000 years or so. Well, pretty sure it's a tad more than 6ky.

We could just be like a zoo for entertainment purposes. They watch us weekly from 5-9pm every day for dinner and post dinner laughs. They might actually bid space bucks on certain political outcomes and hot tv shows but never on sports. They come to earth periodically to check their um bump things that help broadcast back to their planet. I remember camping out at Soap Lake one time at nightfall ….dreaming or seeing 👽 and

Nah, they watch for 5 minutes, shake their heads and walk away..
That's why what's around now are not aliens, they gave up on us long ago and just avoid us now.

Fun fact—Cheetos make a great fire starter. They burn like a candle. Doesn’t even have to be the Flamin’ Hot flavor.

Y’all are going to let the whole idea of using dinosaurs for sinful purposes just slide on by?

Earth is young, and it's population, is young when looking at the age of the universe. Has anyone considered that a number of alien civilizations came here to deposit/exile the dregs of their civilizations here? That may explain why Earth has such a wide diversity of people here...

They were here tens of thousands of years ago-before the development of language while humankind was in the early stages of development. They had electricity, power equipment such as saws and grinders and when they left they took it all with them, ostensibly so we wouldn't hurt ourselves with it. They were some big sons of bitches given the way enormous slabs of rock were moved around and stacked. I don't see a bunch of little 5' tall hunter/gathers building the enormous megalithic structures they left us with. Like all tourists they eventually got homesick and went home.

They probably came on a field trip or a charter vacation tour of the outer cosmos and were fascinated by a colorful planet with so much water. Having no building materials with them they used what was available to them which was rock and probably did it for fun much as we would go to a beach and build sand castles. You have to think big and imagine big and try not to see the whole universe in the context of modern day humans-about 6 feet tall and living less than 100 years. Maybe we should be thinking more like 15-30 feet tall with a life span of several hundred earth years. Remember, when J Harlen Bretz discovered the magnitude of the Missoula flood he was ridiculed for years by small thinking detractors but was eventually proven right. Think big.

In that vein, a joke from the '70's!

Astronomers discovered an inhabited planet orbiting a nearby star. It was determined that we should send emissaries there to become familiar with the inhabitants and a flight program was established to send 2 astronauts to the planet. They trained for a couple of years while the spacecraft was being readied. Finally the day arrived for liftoff and the rocket sped toward the new planet. The astronauts were given instructions on basic protocol once they got there and were told to say: "Take me to your leader!"

They touched down on a beautiful planet and stepped down on lush grass and lots of flowers. Suddenly they were surrounded by a bevy of extremely beautiful and voluptuous women, all clad in skimpy bikinis or nothing at all. They were in total shock at the sight of these women who were all between 9 and 12 feet tall!

Trying to remember his instructions the lead astronaut blurted out: "Take me to your ladder, I'll meet your leader later!"

I agree with @iveofione with regards to looking at the bigger picture. If we limit our thoughts to what we know, then there are limits to innovation much less what can be.

Do I believe there are others out there? Absolutely!

Will we ever learn how much more? Probably not.

I'm in the "There is life out there, but we're never going to meet them" category. I'm a huge sci-fi fan, likely over 5K books read in my lifetime. A couple things stick out:
1 Faster than light travel is not possible and will never be possible.
2 Aliens, if and when we meet them, will likely be so different than we are that even establishing communication will be nigh on impossible. We may not even recognize them as alive or sentient beings.

No they came here to escape the Tyranny of their red eyes metallic overlords.
