Bass flies for stumpy water?

I keep seeing this thread title since it’s top of this sub forum and thinking that if I ever became a bluesman I’d take the name of Stumpy Waters.
You could sing the blues about getting hung up and having to break off your line, and about hooking a big ole fish and losing it in the stumps.

For bass fishing, the first song should be the "Cold Front Blues."

When you're fishin' in the mornin'
After a cold and windy night,
No matter if you're rich or poor,
You can't buy a bite...

Or... for those fishy, cloudy mornings, there's "Big Bass Poppers" (to the tune of "Cheap Sunglasses"):

When you're fishin' in the mornin'
And those clouds they fill the sky,
It's that glorious condition
Gets the mojo flyin' high.
Don't even mess around
With them Clousers or hoppers
Go get yo-self some Big Bass Poppers!

And yes, just about all my bass fishin' verses start out with "fishin' in the mornin" or something very close.

I don't know what your day job is Shad, but if it doesn't work out you might have a new career opportunity writing jingles!

I ended up ordering some stuff from Big Y and received my order today - #2 clousers in various colors, some 1/0 bunny clousers, several colors of surf candy in 3/0, some crayfish bunnies in 2/0, and several different types of divers - chartruse Dahlberg diver, big red/black pike divers, red/white deer hair divers, and some big ass swimming water dogs.

Well, the fishing was pretty slow. They'd had some early spring weather moving bass up into shallower water and then several days before I arrived they got a gnarly cold snap with the coldest weather they've had all year. Daytime highs were in the low 30's in the days leading up to my arrival and was still cold and windy for the first couple of days I was there. We finally got some nice weather hitting mid to upper 70's the last couple days of my visit and it was enough to start moving fish into shallower water again. Not many bites but I did land this gal on Wednesday. First fish landed in 2025. Caught her on a 2/0 crayfish bunny using a 8' dual density tip that was 4' float/4' sink. No scale but I'd guess she was between 3.5 and 4 Lbs. Certainly no hog by Lake Fork standards, but still fun and big enough to stretch my line a bit. Fishing could have been better, but I got to spend some quality time with family and that was the reason for going.
