After the Yankees took the lead after homers by Judge and Stanton, I thought the game was over and turned on football. Just checked the score. Congrats to the Indians for pulling it out.

How sweet it is! Having been a Dodger fan for over 75 years this will be the 22nd time they have appeared in the World Series in that time, about 30 percent of the time. The most ever by a National League team. When I started following them back in the 40's they were the laughing stock of baseball-Dem Bums, the lovable losers.
Fast forward 75 years and they are the best organization in baseball, hated by many but the envy of every organization that doesn't have their recipe for success. When I first became a fan I lived in east central Illinois and my Little League buddies rooted for either the St. Louis Cardinals or the Chicago Cubs. I chose the Dodgers just to be the devils advocate. While I was in the service my parents moved to Los Angeles and I found myself in the same town as Vin Scully, Sandy Koufax and Don Drysdale. I went to Dodger Stadium when it first opened and watched my hero's in person. I come about being a Dodger fan honestly, I never chose them because they were successful-they weren't-they were bloody awful.
For you long suffering Mariner fans-just be patient. The Dodgers were formed in 1883 and didn't win their first World Series until 1955-72 years. The Mariners have only been losers since 1977, a mere 47 years. I never became a fanatical Fan Boi like some I could mention, I'm happy when they win but not crushed when they lose.
Yankees and Dodgers-the way a World Series should be! I'll be rooting for Dem Bums but don't expect a lot with their patchwork pitching staff, it should be interesting.
