Baseball 2024

Been a bit of radio silence from our KC fan/s...

Exhausted from staying up past 9PM……that said, love watching young teams come together and show that …..Hey! We know how this works…watch us! Hoping the Evil Empire will be shown the door by either one of the two upstarts from mid America. Based on current observation Detroit plays on because of Skubal though I do enjoy watching both teams.
I am worried that in the finale we’ll end up with the Two Best Teams That Money Can Buy or god forbid ….a
Limousine Series - Bronx vs Queens. Talk about hyperbole.

Not afraid to speak my voice or in hiding, just waaaay too late for me too be posting at games end being Eastern time (have I mentioned I hate Eastern time). Yes, the hated Yankeeze took out those amazing young Royals 3-1. The Royals did squander opportunities, did not get the "big" hit when it presented itself, but overall, I far prefer what the Royals accomplished this year over last!!! A great turnaround, and as they say, "wait until next year"

Another Subway Series…
Still have my shirt from the last one.

GO METS…!!

Personally, I'm rooting for a Yankees/Dodgers series...2 best players in the game going against (ish) each other.

Honestly, even though I'll always root for the Rangers when they're playing, last year's series was really boring (to me).

Great season in KC, look forward to CLE/KC next year. Peg and I will be at CLE/DET Game 5 tomorrow with my brother and sister-in-law (visiting from Snohomish). Win or lose, no wrong answers 👍

Congrats to the Dodgers! They discovered some pitching with back to back shut-out games.

San Diego shit in it's own mess kit after going up 2-1 and declaring they wouldn't be going back to LA until May of 2025. They went back but they didn't show up. I think LA will beat the Mets despite their pitching woes. They have the home field advantage and are starting to feel it finally with many of the injuries behind them. I still won't bet on them to win the World Series if they get that far, they don't have a single dominant starter, a guy that can make 3 starts in a 7 game series. I don't think there are any of those guys around any more having been supplanted by "bullpen games".

Thankfully the oft used phrase: "...those amazing young Royals..." can now be put to bed. The Royals ran out of amaze.😁

Wondering how the Mets are going to react to being on a roll with no days off and + momentum……….then nothing for three days. Amped up…or..flat?

You think so, huh? Well, those amazing young Royals are already preparing for another run next year, you'll be hearing lots about them, lest you choose to just skip over those posts, which is your option ;)

Go Royals

I find myself in the very awkward position of rooting for the Mets, but I would root for just about any team over the Dodgers. Although I have liked the occasional player (Duke Snyder, of course the great Jackie Robinson), and respect Mr Rickey and what the organization did for baseball, I have hated them since Rick Monday took out my beloved Expos on Blue Monday (disliked them before, but became absolute hate after that).

Go Mets!!!

Psst………Snider….as in Edwin “Duke” Snider.

No love for Nuke, Campy, PeeWee, Preacher, Furillo, et al?

They lost me when they crossed the Mississippi. That team always had character..until they didn’t.

I understand the Cleveland baseball team changing their historic name in this era of political correctness but why choose a new moniker reminiscent of someone with an intestinal parasite?

Disappointing not being able to watch or listen to the game tonight. The quest for the all mighty dollar sure leaves many who love the game behind.

Interesting chatter listening to sports radio today while out driving around regarding the playoffs and Mariners.
The gist of the conversation was to root against Cleveland. The reason being is if Cleveland wins, that just empowers Mariners ownership to continue to not want to spend more money on payroll.
If Cleveland can win it all with the 23rd largest payroll, why would the Mariners need to spend any more than their 16th largest payroll? Interesting thought process to say the least.

You didn't miss much. I watched the 1st couple innings and checked back in to see if Cleveland could even it up.

Sort of a lame game.

Go Indians!!!

Painful that NY was beatable and we had their pitcher right where we wanted him...even after pulling ours in the 2nd.

We beat ourselves in Game 2. Took me right back to Seattle in the Piniella years. Uggh.
