Baseball 2024

Very close to being over!

Yankeeeze robbed!!!! Where's all the griping about umping and how bad calls cost the game, or is that only when it's "your" team the "Bad" call is against????

Go Royals 2025!!!

Are you kidding me? Unbelievable!

What's up with the Yankees hate?
1996 ALCS Orioles vs Yankees game 1 I think it was. Umps give the Yanks a HR on fan interference, should've been a double the ball would not have cleared the fence. Screwed the pooch for us after that.
Never forgive, never forget. Death to the Yankees!

And that's the fault of the Yankees because...?

Cracks me up that the Mariners get shit on by their fans and non-fans because the owners won't spend the money, (like the Yankees) to improve their team and then turn around and hate on the Yankees who spend whatever they damn well please.

More and more I view sports as light entertainment and exhibitions of athleticism and strategy and worry less and less about the W/L record. All the players that I rooted for back in my more rabid days are long retired or dead. And if it happens after 8pm I probably won't see it.

Anymore, I have somewhat the same attitude towards all sports*, generally, I don't care about what team wins or what their win/loss record is or who their quarterback is or if Taylor Swift will be at the game. I find, at least for me, it's healthier (for me) to just not care if the Hawks win or lose, same for that baseball team from Seattle. I was talking to a friend the othe day, he was so distraught from the Hawks game this past Sunday that he'd gotten sick to his stomach. Wow.

* An exception is the Havocks. Last Sunday, my seven year old grandson scored a basket from outside the key and got whistled twice for his defense! Go Keiji!! (My wife and I are looking forward to seeing him play when we visit in December; then I probably will be a rabid sports fan.)

A great October for us Dodger fans-up 3-zip in the World Serious! I think the Yankees are screwed and there is nothing sweeter in sports than seeing the Yankees get trampled.

As Yogi once said "It ain't over till it's over" . Although it is getting close . The Yankees were the first team to lose an ALCS being up 3-0 , they could be the first to win a series being down 3-0 . It will be interesting if the Yankees win tonight ,and get back to LA . I'd like to see a game 6, and hopefully a game 7 to make it interesting . IMO nothing could be sweeter than the Dodgers going down being up 3-0 . 😛

Remember the 2004 championship series between the Yankees and the Red Sox?
I remember writing my high school biology term paper (banging it out on my inherited manual Royal typewriter) during game six of the 1975 World Series between the Cincinnati Reds and the Boston Red Sox…I was living in Bridgewater MA at the time, and knowing full well that my biology teacher Mr Scarano was a serious die hard BoSox fan, I cleverly included game highlights in between paragraphs, ending with as best a written description of Carlton Fisk’s walk off homer in the ninth that I could muster…

I got an A+ on the paper…

There is a 3-part documentary on that series that just debuted on Netflix--The Comeback.
I wish I could see the series. Our daughter living in Boston back then so we were rooting for the Sox.

When it comes to baseball, hell yah!!! I hate the Dodgers, I hate them because of 1 play, a home run by Rick Monday off Steve Rogers in game 5 to take my beloved Montreal Expos out of the NLCS in 1981 (Blue Monday). I hate the Dodgers!!!!!

Go Yankeeeeeezse!!
