That…and layin down a bunt, sac-fly, or just a good ol’ single thru the infield to advance the runners…are offensive baseball to me.Love to see an intentional walk followed by a game winning hit. I get it, It was all about lefty/righty and not about Hanniger per say. Still, to see a hitter step in as the preferred victim and make 'em pay is fun. And what a great at bat by Hanniger. He battled off pitchers pitches on the outside corner just to get to a pitch that he could get out of the infield.
Gabe Speier is on the 15day IL, should be off soon AFAIK. Really miss Matt Brash this year, great setup arm who can close too.If Munoz and Stanek are the closers then Ms need another good reliever. If Stanek is suppose to be more relief than need another closer.
Bullpen I worry about:
- Bazardo
- Baumman
- Saucedo
Trade one of them with Hancock who needs another year in minors and get a solid closer. With the A’s tanking, Miller please![]()
I'm watching my first game of the season, because I'm in Tampa and it happens to be on. (I was among the many left out when Root Sports and XFinity conspired to steal my coverage I was paying extra for.)I recall being somewhat surprised when the M's had a 2 game lead over the second place world champs. Could be 8 1/2 games after today. Is it possible that they actually are a pretty good baseball team? Not NY Yankees dominant but still a pretty good team. Easy to root for a team that looks like it is having fun playing a kids game.
Just heard one of the talking heads say that he threw 22 out of 26 first pitch strikes. No backing down from him today.Gotta like what Logan Gilbert did today. Simply dominant.

Best pitch ion baseball, first pith strike - it's one of the things that made Greg Maddox so great, even when he could barely crack 90, he was always ahead in the count. The key to many successful
Pitchers. Or a successful game for a pitcher.
.. Speaking that Canuck fellow, he is actually quite happy that in the 12-games (in a row) the Royals just wrapped against first-place teams (Cleveland, Ms, Yankees, and Dodgers), they went 5 and 7; doesn't sound that impressive but considering they are still 9 up on .500 and they only won 56 last year, he'll take it.Who could have predicted that? Pretty impressive effort by some younger Mariners. Edit: If I start sounding like the Canuck somebody slap me.![]()
