Backyard Wildlife

It seems that anything on the screen within a foot or so is toast. Best hunting just happens to be while I'm enjoying morning coffee.
That thing is an eating matching and has a pretty diverse diet.

The mantis has been closing in for an hour and a half. Probably gonna miss breakfast as I'm off to church.

Nope, something not right with that one, it let it go to continue it's journey up the screen.

It didn't take long after letting the big, hardback meal go, that the mantis found a smaller, jucier treat.

I kinda feel like Sir David Attenbourgh on the BBC spying on this fellow for two weeks.

I wish we had a praying mantis to watch at our house! We would be fascinated, too!
It's been neat because we've had the various grandkids rotating staying with during this time.

Unlike those silly illiterate deer, that cross indiscriminately anywhere they please over the next 7 miles, the ducks use their designated crosswalk:

Cheers
Do they still use deer butt signs in PA. As I recall they came up with the idea of strategically placing illuminating signs of a deer's butt "flagging" (tail up). This was an alert to other deer that danger was on the horizon. I believe it was moderately successful in reducing the number of deer kills.
