Great shot. Honeybees are cool. These guys, not so much.

My backyard is a deer freeway. I keep my camera close at hand to capture them as they move through. There are several bucks that wander through and this appears to be the alpha male - elegant in velvet.


It appears that one of the does has produced twin fawns that were born in mid/late June, about a month after the first fawns made an appearance. Very cute.

Fortunately this is not my backyard but my buddy's - their place is near Condon, Montana. He said he had a herd of elk in his meadow and then the next morning - took this cell phone shot from his kitchen window.

We got this guy on our game cam a few days ago. Lots of them around this year.

Not exactly wildlife but seems the best place for this. Went to my neighbor's place down the road from me. We were all evacuated during the Lee Falls fire this past week. We are technically still on level 2 evac status. The fire came within 50yds of his place and much closer to his neighbors place. Incredible that all the homes were saved through this one. Many prayers were said by family and friends. They were answered in ways better than expected.

It was a surreal experience. Smoke still rising, a few flames were seen.
