SFR Aliens, Bigfoot, and other unexplained phenomena!

Sorta fishing-related

My personal stance on the earth cryptids- if we can find a Coelacanth (multiple, even) in a massive ocean but can't find a bigfoot in an ever-dwindling and comparatively tiny 2D space...there ain't no bigfoot.

Kinda what I was saying in my post a page or so back. With infrared, drones, and a long list of other technologies; we have the means of finding SOMETHING. I can't imagine an 8' tall ape is that good a hiding, but I'm often (usually) wrong about things.

I have plenty of room in my belief system to allow for the existence of Samsquanch, UFO's and alien beings.
Just haven't seen enough concrete evidence of their existence to make me believe.

I'm sort of hoping for the aliens though, be nice if their was an advanced life form that could teach humans.
;)

There was the time I was hiking to Irely Lake north of Lake Quinault and the hair on the back of my neck stood up. I had this strange feeling I was being watched. Didn't think of Bigfoot; I thought there might be a cougar lurking around. Not terribly wise, but I turned around and went looking for it, thinking I might spook it into moving so that I could gain sight of whatever it was. Never saw a thing, not even tracks. But I did one time see a cougar disappear into brushy forest in about 2 seconds without a sound. So it coulda' been. Or maybe I got that eery feeling for no good reason; I'll never know.
I've had similar hair on the neck, knowing I was probably being watched or stalked.
The first was in my childhood...about 1976. I lived on a dairy in Washougal. Up on the hill between the Little Washougal and main river. We had 60 acres below the county road that was fields and 60 acres above the road that was trees. The 60 above was also connected to nearly roadless areas all the way up to Larch Mtn.
My cousin and I were up in the woods being kids and it was starting to get dark. We were coming down the old "skidder road" when a friggin coyote races right in front of us, chasing a cottontail. It freaked us out, but was also cool. And we'd seen many coyotes and never felt threatened at all. Well, 5 minutes later we're starting to worry that we're gonna be in trouble if we don't make it back to the house before dark.
And about that time my cousin just stops. I'm like what? He's like shutup! I don't hear anything, but I sense exactly what he's sensing. And he just says it..."We're being watched." I'm like "maybe a bear?" We didn't know, but it was the worst 10 minutes of my life walking out of there.

The 2nd was 1993 walking out of Ebey Lake, in the dark. Those that have been up there know it's a freaky place anyway. Most of my worries were concerning if some crazy local messed with me. But it also has bear and cats. I saw cougar, bobcat and bear tracks there all the time. Anyway, I'm walking out, float tube in one hand and rod & fins in the other, no headlamp or light. Yeah, not real smart.
I get about halfway to the truck and I have that feeling. I 100% know I'm being stalked by what I just assume is a cougar. I start yelling and singing while I walk and stop every few steps to take a listen. Never been so happy to get to my truck!

3rd time was on Lord's Hill between Monroe and Snohomish, probably about 1999. I was walking & running the trails up there for conditioning. I would take my 95# mutt with me since he needed it more than me. 😁 We were about a mile in and he starts acting really weird. He was a hunting dog, but it wasn't him being birdy. And he would chase coyotes, but this was different. He seemed super stressed. The hair on his back was up. I suddenly had that old feeling again.
I decided to 1- stop running and 2- head back to the truck. We got about 1/2 way back and the mutt started acting normal. We get back to the parking lot and there it is...a warning sign about a cougar that had been spotted multiple times that week. Haha! I hadn't seen it on the way in. I took a couple weeks off running those trails. :)

My quick thought on Bigfoot. Why hasn't some redneck shot one by now? Carry on...

If aliens had technology to reach us... Imagine how easy it would be for them to wipe us out.

Meh...
If they had that technology, there's nothing we could do, so I don't even think about it.
Besides, what are the odds a highly developed civilization would even bother with a bunch of lowlife (forms) like homo sapiens anyways ?
It's not likely we have much to offer, more likely much to learn.
Being wiped out by aliens isn't on my bingo card for this lifetime...maybe next time though.

Mossbacks Paradox

Aliens don't visit us 'cuz we're too damn stupid and not worth the effort to travel through a wormhole and visit. Word's out in the Universe, nice planet, bad population of bipeds, designated no-go zone.

Change my mind.

That's the thing, they have no use for us. They'd want our minerals and resources.

Well assuming we have the type of resources and minerals they want of course, there's still nothing that we could do, if they are malevolent in their intentions and highly advanced. Unless they succumb to respiratory viruses ( assuming they breathe air) like other, less fortunate civilizations here, or can't otherwise function in our environment, we're probably out of luck.

I guess there's an assumption (or projection) that any aliens who would come here would be bad aliens, with evil intent.
No actual reason for that view IMHO...but it does seem to be the prevalent one, given all the literature, TV, movies with that as a premise.

There's definitely the bad aliens that want to wipe us out and take our rocks. But there are also the type that just want to put things in our butts.

'Wasn't my worst Wednesday night'
:)

Greys, Reptilians or Reptiloids, LGM, rods/skyfish, Space Bros/Nordics...
The list goes on, and if they come to visit, I hope to catch a glimpse...and will be keeping my eye out, and watching behind me too.
;)

To paraphrase :

'I've never wished a man dead, but I have read of some alien probings with great pleasure'

Probably safer to work on the assumption their wants and needs are not mutually exclusive.

They are obviously good at hiding, or we would have good pictures of them. Q.E.D.

yeah, exactly, for every Mork there's like 100 malevolent aliens. Plus Mork was actually exiled from Ork because he was funny. I would think there is a pretty solid shot that aliens that can navigate space and time must excel at observation, prediction, math and so on. To get here there would need to be some trial and error, so they also know tragedy and if they know tragedy, they know it's twin, comedy. These guys are probably comedic geniuses. Slapstick, wit, observational humor, satire, sitcom, dad and fart jokes- they know it. The question in my mind would be if the comedy translates.

Their inside joke just straight up bombs:

Alien: We need your rocks and/or minerals?
BHP Billiton PFC Hack: Oh yeah, how are you going to pay for it?
Alien: Chuckles with alien buddies Death and annihilation.....
