I feel like patsy should get a pass. Grandfather in "Crazy" and "Walkin After Midight" at the very least. If someone complains about patsy I'd suggest they let that one marinate! There's a time ,and place for the tunes , but IMO not on the river or lake . Unfortunately there are the few that need to blast it out there for everyone . I thought thats why they invented AirPods . I do have to confess with this new boat I did try the CD player in it , and listened quietly to some Patsy Cline , and I do mean quietly .![]()
/Sandhill crane auto-rec engagedI USED to have an account with ----- shop along the Madison River. They were good to deal with but they broke my dealing with them when one of their emails promoted one of those DAMN music boxes suggesting how wonderful it is to drift the Madison with music blasting. I live for and love music but I don't want to listen to, or hear anyone else's music when I'm fishing. I want to hear nature. I like to hear the sound of a trout rising behind me, chukars calling at Lenore (yesterday), sandhill cranes calling..... Tool? Wagner? Bob Marley? They have their place but not on the lakes or rivers I frequent.
Getting off the subject a bit ,but you brought up the click ,and pawl . My first fiberglass fly rod was a Fenwick bought in the mid 70's , broke it sometime in the 70's . Anyway a FF856 , serial # dates to being built in 1976 popped up on a local classifieds , and later on a Pflueger 1495 . Looking forward to fishing it ,being a bit nostalgic about it , and hearing that click , although that Pflueger does have a drag.Waaaaayyyyy more often than not the only music I want to hear when I'm fishing is my or my buddy's click and pawl reel singing.

Thatβs just it. Muskies must prefer metal.. They were in a raft, had a little speaker and were playing some tunes (some reggae shit at low volume)...
