2026 Gardening Growing Thread

I'm trying the pineapple this year for the first time. Will be growing it along side of my old standbys -Brandywine red and monotaro along with other first timers -Brandywine yellow and Brandywine black. Looking forward to the side-by-side comparison taste tests.

My wife LOVES these tomatoes, hope you enjoy them too!

I went all tiny tomatoes this year: sweet million cherry, sungold, and yellow pear.
I only have space for 3 plants and I've found eating them straight of the vine is my favorite way to enjoy them and if I get overwhelmed, they are great oven roasted or turned into sauce.

I was away from home for two weeks, so it was nice to return and things in bloom and my garden not dead.

This is a native rhodie, two plants actually. I got them as seedlings from the conservation district 20 years ago. Transplanted them when we moved into the "new" house in 2010. They're doing well, and I really like 'em.

The boards of my raised beds were rotting out, so I replaced two of them with new lumber this year. Got a few things growing, radishes, onions, carrots, spinach, sugar snap peas, and lettuce. Also transplanted my tomato plants. They're currently suffering transplant trauma, so I hope they get back to growing soon.

There is another explanation. My camera battery died on day 2 of my Utah hike, so I took a few photos with my camera (long story). I mainly relied on photos from my hiking companions for the trip. I needed to get my camera and phone photos loaded onto my computer to share with the group (a longer story). When I got home, I decided to test the camera battery life (3 days) and take some yard and garden and kitchen photos that I might as well share.

Good to hear your camera works! 😉

No rush on cukes, I never planted mine till late June or July...
they do best in warm to hot weather...cool wet weather just stunts them.

I don't know what got into my tomatoes I had to pull 4 of my 5 plants out. They looked sick. wilting, blueish, yellowish, I haven't encountered that before. I have a water tester probe, I probe each plant before watering to make sure it needs water or not. I given them plant food and they never bounced back. Ill replace them this weekend.

Likely Fusarium or Verticillium., both root diseases that are soil borne...the bluish tint is the tell.
Don't compost the dead plants, the disease will survive, too them in the trash.

Mossback.. Thanks for the advice. plants went in the trash, the only thing new this year i did was add more good soil. All the other raised beds from the same soils are doing good. Ill replant this weekend.
