The Columbia Springs Kids Fishing Fest today was a resounding success. As a fishing mentor, I was assisting kids in catching two Rainbow Trout, but the fish were so cooperative, we kept running out of kids to assist! The average was probably around 4 minutes for them to catch their 2 fish...

There are more volunteer kids fishing events coming up on May 16th. At Horseshoe Lake in Woodland, the Moose Lodge is hosting an annual kids fishing derby, and on that same date, Columbia Springs is hosting their Kids Fishing Fest. I will be volunteering at the Columbia Springs event. Rich

I was there yesterday and we had a good turnout, but not a great one! We could definitely use more help assembling the rods & reels. The doors open at 2:30, bring your needle-nose pliars and line nippers and as Bob Barker used to say, "Come on Down!"

It's Fast approaching! I was at the venue a couple days ago to deliver a prize rod and checked out the fish - they are spectacular! All I could see were hundreds of 3-5 pound Trout, with a few bigger outliers! The kids are going to have a GREAT time!

I will be volunteering at the CAST For Kids event on Sarg Hubbard Pond in Yakima June 21st. I will also be giving away several reconditioned rods and re-spooled reels to kids that want them.
