Got the compact disc version of that, prefer it to any other Pink Floyd album
Oh yeah for sure. I am on a kick right now where I am going back to a bunch of music I used to listen to but this time listening to their non hits, and also reviewing live work.

My oldest daughter and I have start recording vinyl together. After considerable research I landed on a good turntable and got it hooked up to my new onkyo receiver that feeds 5 brand new Polk Signature series speakers. I think we have maybe about 8-10 albums so far. Does anyone else share the same hobby?

Wait—recording? Or collecting?

I went through a period of collecting and listening to vinyl when I was younger and single. I eventually got rid of my turntable and records as I just really wasn't able to make use of it once I had others in my household. My musical tastes aren't shared by all that many people so headphones is generally my only option when I'm at home. The convenience of having all the music I could ever listen to on my phone, coupled with having to listen on headphones anyway, eventually just phased out my interest in vinyl.

And if I am being honest, I think I was into vinyl more just because that's what the cool kids did, and not because I really preferred the listening experience. Digital music played through good headphones is perfectly fine to my ears, so it just didn't really make a lot of sense for me to keep spending money on vinyl.

I collected vinyl for a while. Did the whole record show circuit, this was long before internet...writing letters and sending money orders. It was fun but one day I woke up to around 4-5000 LPS, Eps and 45s, and decided it was time.
Now I stream whatever I want, it's never scratched and doesn't skip, and I have floor space.

I revisited the album recently; 1987 was a good year. I've used to get this stuck in my head at a particularly scary wading crossing long ago. It was about 6.5 minutes of jaw clinching tension followed by so much relief (and a really nice bar that seemed to stretch on for ever).
