Warning to new fly tiers...

.. and fly fishers: Things can get out of hand.

Just finished organizing my tying kit and packing my all my fly tying and fly fishing crap for an upcoming move. The rods are just the ones in current use for river coho. There are another 2 full totes (these are half totes) of conventional gear and lost count of rods when packing the garage. Don't say you weren't warned.

With all the fish you catch you are well within the gear/production matrix. Imho you could be building rods and splicing lines no problem.

Yah I just realized the mirror effect.... you're gonna have to officially declare this "not problematic in the slightest" because some people here have real problems with the stuff

I'm on the other side now, pretty much unpacked. We only moved half way across town, so I only needed 4 banker boxes, plus my wood chest, wader bag, two gear bags, 15 rods........ about 1/2 a Volvo's worth. I disposed of a lot of stuff during the move, but couldn't find anything in my fishing stuff stash I didn't NEED.
Good luck on your move, hope it goes smoothly.

Oh heck, I was fooled and thought he had 12 totes!

Yeah, when we moved into the rental "temporarily", 3 years ago, I remember thinking the mirrored doors, and other features of this 80's split level were a bit odd. Fortunately it's been a nice home and nice neighborhood.

As detailed oriented this bunch is, I'm kinda surprised nobody picked out the "fly" hook box with 6/0 Siwash written on it.

I feel that I must point out that those are small totes. And although it's a decent start all of it would disappear into my mess collection.
Furthering my PSA to new tyers about the bottomless rabbit hole they are going down. ;)

That is a well organized moving system, impressive!

Once a year I spend 2-3 weeks organizing and my gear and fly tying materials. Anything that isn't getting enough use, I sell or donate. Less is more

2 totes of fly tying? shit thats nothing
