I missed the earlier coho bonanza due to a deluge of work travel and meetings, it felt good to hit the water early today. First fish was the biggest of the day, lost after a couple jumps and walking on water, honestly looked like a 10 lb coho. Found some seagulls working on surface bait and picked a couple coho in short order, both females 6 and 7 lb, not huge but decent size compared to my earlier coho catches this year. Zoomed in picture to show the "dazed and conefused" 5 inch fly that did the trick and also the deformed pectoral fin, did I kill Nemo? . On the way back I spotted some small birds feeding among a thick line of seagrass, they looked like migrating red-necked phalaropes, sorry for the poor picture. Lots of purpoises around, no whales. I desperately needed some fish therapy, it felt great.
