Redeemed myself today with a new fly I tied up last night. It has no name but came about out of salvaging undersized feathers from pheasant capes depleted of hackle I used for #12 Carey Specials.
For some reason, all hooks were in the corner of the mouth of all three trout brought to hand. No getting loose from that. These fish have a unique fight style. They like to run lateral or towards you and jump. Moves like that quickly puts slack in your line.
