Hoping to find a few fish this week in the afternoons Wednesday through Sunday. I'll be fishing a two hander on Ona beach and just south of the jetty if anyone is down. Might see if Beaver Creek mouth is holding some SRCs, too.

If this is a philosophy degree comment, I'll have you know--as soon as I graduamated, the philosophy factory shut down, so I found other work.I thought this was all you did
At least you're not an archeologist. All you'd be doing is digging up the past while your life was in ruins. If this is a philosophy degree comment, I'll have you know--as soon as I graduamated, the philosophy factory shut down, so I found other work.

Been using small and medium Clousers. Fished a 7wt 11' two hander this time, did not like the line setup. Looking for an integrated skagit. What setup and flies do you use for surf perch? I've only used saltwater plastics on a carolina rig/ gear rod. Usually pretty effective.
Personally, I like a 7 or 8wt SH with either a type 4 or type 6 shooting head in the 250 (7wt) to 300 (8wt) grain weight. I'm partial to SA Sonar Titan tapers for lines and typically just fish either an orange or red checkerboard fly. Really basic. Don't forget your stripping basket, it's virtually impossible to fish the surf out here without one. What setup and flies do you use for surf perch?
