Found this in the garage! Got a great deal a few years back and honestly forgot about it. Will build a switch rod and use it for Euro Nymphing.. maybe squid jigging too.

Will build it as a switch rod, with two handles..

I’ve built 3 different Rainshadow Unity Rx3 this year and I must say, I’m impressed. High quality finish on those blanks with good fitting ferrules. Feels good in the hand and a bargain to boot.

I have a Rainshadow RX8+ I think.. a 6wt 4pc 9' that is my goto trout and sea run cutthroat rod. I have a 6' 2wt 4pc rod I love as well! I've built a lot of Batson Enterprises Rainshadow blanks when I built rods commercially for a year.. love them!!

Did you build gear rods too?
Perhaps a very close family member worked for Batson?
If so you have built 4 rods for me awhile ago.

I’ve built a couple of the Rainshadow switches, I think on that same blank. They are really sweet rods. For the 6 weight I made a custom handle that has a shorter bottom grip, which I think really works well on the 6, especially since sometimes I single hand cast it. For the 7 I used a standard off the shelf switch handle set up.

I built a ton of gear rods for XRods! Spent a year doing handles in the morning and epoxying up to 28 rods a day in the afternoon .. plus worked on the web site!
