That second one……If your a tier, tie at least 3 in several sizes... if your a buyer buy what you can afford.
I try and have several green variations, just because you never know. And it justifies buying more stuff,

Maybe ten years ago now, back at the cabin after a day of fishing, Keith was tying up a couple of new midges. The first fly he tied was with a black nickel bead with white thread. I was scratching my head wondering about this until he dug out all his markers:I have had good luck with multiple different colors.
