Thanks, Brian!I’m getting really sick of all the pigs that are making our state look like a complete shithole.
Half the bag is spent fireworks from the beach. We’ll continue to lose access if this stuff continues.

I haven't seen much Japanese Knotweed since moving here from New England. Back there, it's a scourge.View attachment 21409View attachment 21410
Fun weekend, paddled a lot, good numbers of fish. Boot's boot by another's. Limes and knotweed....speaking of knotweed, this looks to be really invasive based on the amounts washing up on beaches...
And if you are looking for sandy features that hold cutts, this is the kind of sand you want

Yeah and if those little broken bits are green/viable, they can grow a whole new plant! It’s definitely at the point where control and management strategies need to be and are starting to be decided. It’s out there, real bad in some places, just huge monocultures all through the riparian understory.I haven't seen much Japanese Knotweed since moving here from New England. I wish there was a like and a sad emoji.Back home after a week in the Midwest. Lots of chores to do this afternoon, so I decided to stay local and hit a MA 10 beach.
Started at 4:30 and called it a day at 8:30 as the tide petered out and got weedy.
The fish have plumped up since I last hit this beach about a month ago which is good to see. A decent amount of fish to hand, some fry and some targets to fish to.
First fish I hooked today was a jumbo. Must have jumped at least eight times before finally releasing itself on the last jump. That was a super solid fish.
Only used one fly today, a solid white 2” clouser.
Came upon a fawn that must have just been killed or I interrupted the act as I hiked on the trail to the beach. The doe was there pacing and not happy with my presence so I gave her a wide birth. The fawn was gone when I returned. I noticed a lot of furry looking scat on the trail so likely one of the resident coyotes got the fawn. I’ve been seeing a lot more deer in my neighborhood lately.
Nature is a cruel mistress.
A few pics from today. Time for some yard work… ;(

Looks like Portage island in the distance.
Yes portage island. The view from the cabin my family originally built back in the 30’s or 40’s after moving from Friday harbor.Looks like Portage island in the distance.

Like smelt! One time back in the day when I was living out of my truck and camping along the Northern California coast I walked out on the beach and thousands of little 4" baitfish leaped out of the water onto the sand right in front of me, like I've seen happen during bluefish runs back east. I considered it a gift from the sea and gathered up a mess of them and fried them up over a driftwood fire. They were delicious.Any ever fry a plate of them up and try them? Ceviche?
It's going to be hard to ignore the above research for the Stonedfish Beachy Romance thread...Didn’t know there was such a place as “Shlong Beach” I guess I need to get out on the beaches more. I found out soon enough when I looked up from looking for glass and saw four nude dudes playing frisbee and another maybe another dozen nude people laying on the beach. I headed back south immediately……
