I made the drive over the pass to the market today, an 84 mile round trip and never saw another car in my lane in either direction. No snow or ice on the road with intermittent snow and intermittent sunshine. The big takeaway is that none of the Little Pend Oreille chain of lakes is showing even the least amount of thaw and even the lowest lake down in the valley is hard ice shore to shore. It is still 45 days until the opener over here and things should be open by then but I am concerned about winter kill in some of the shallower lakes.
Spokane has over 10'' of snow above average this year and it's pretty certain that the tundra has that much or more. There will be snow of some kind around until April for sure.
