Good thing the 9rs kept the sandwich guy...as 3 Lance's season was over freaky fast.

Hope he recovers, looked pretty serious...hate to see legs double over like that.

He's making good reads, accurate, getting rid of the ball quickly. Not perfect, but doing much better than people expected of him.

Sure. But that’s not “great”

This last drive was his best performance, but that was also with a SF Defense playing soft.

I’m trying to revive my dopey hope, but I’m not feeling it.
 
Geno looks pretty good. He's making the plays that are there. I wouldn't say play designing/calling is Pete's strong suit. Geno is good enough to lose competitively, which is kind f what you want when rebuilding right?

On the Niner side JimmyG is just good enough to win games that shouldn't be as close as they are. Losing Lance to what kind of sounds like a broken ankle takes the fun out of this game for me. I think the kid has all the skills, just needs some time. Hopefully it's just a sprain and he's back mid-season.

That said, the Niners always have been a D and run team under Shanahan. They invested in their special teams this year and it is showing.

Jimmy G has all the motivation in the world for this game (and the season generally). He's got a chance to show teams that he should have been traded for, show the Niners they shouldn't have chucked him for Trey Lance, and get a huge payday next season as a free agent.

I suspect the Niners are going to get the best version of Jimmy G this season, but for sure this game.
