Annual License fees 2026-2027

Many thousands of people fish the Columbia River and its tributaries, so the endorsement adds appreciable revenue for WDFW. Maybe a thousand or so people fish the Skagit, so a $10 endorsement doesn't even create pocket change; ergo, WDFW wouldn't be interested.
True, but I bet most of the people that want to fish the Skagit would be willing to pay a lot more.

Hardly believe one should consider Mayfield Lake a tributary anyway the Cowlitz below the dam yes, but not above the dam.....and its only required for salmon and steelhead....

The columbia river endorsement is only needed if you're fishing for salmon or steelhead its literally in the name:
Figures. More bad info from folks that should know. I specifically asked the question and was told by wdfw staff it was required. I have been buying it yearly for years based off that conversation. Oh well, the state gets plenty of money from me for weird shit what's a few bucks more.

Lame. But maybe you are hanging in the wrong places for a scofflaw. Come hide in the cesspool amongst the scruffy ne’er do wells of an s hole county and you’ll blend in.
Corruption is not partisan. Even with old man card prices. I have not bothered for a while. Been fed up for 7 years now. Thee expense outweighs the benefits and i live on SSA. There is that upper back and very bad knees thing that are a big part of my preferences though. It has gone to hell. I am channeling OMJ, he may be influencing me but not really sure.

To truly channel OMJ you have to live in a state with minimal licensing fees, incredible fishing opportunities and repeatedly gloat about it on this sort of thread. It might work if you're old enough to gloat about the WA 70+ senior rate though!

As of post #40…..don’t get me started on age 70 krusty……

So...I'll leave it and my license at home so I'm not tracked. Perfect.

"Well, kind sir, I would show you my license but your app killed my fucking battery on the way here.
"Beginning July 8, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) will no longer provide hunting and fishing licenses or other license products on waterproof, tear-resistant license paper and is encouraging the use of mobile licensing."

I got my digital license. I frequently use Gaia when I'm hiking and have carried a small battery bank that can fully charge my phone twice.
I guess I am in the electronic age.

The system seems to have no problem finding me if I'm one day out of date with my tabs. I once got a ticket for expired tabs while I was in the office getting my new tabs. I went straight to the judge and showed the time on my receipt and the time on the ticket were within minutes of each other. They cut the fine in half. Jerks.
They staked out the licensing office!

So if you block cell data permission for the app, does it automatically go into “field mode”?
Does it want constant GPS access?

I’m not going to use it this year, maybe next year if it isn’t a total nightmare, and only then with all the permissions locked down.
I typically go into airplane mode when hiking, fishing to preserve battery. GPS works but cell does not. Yes the MyWDFW app and Fish WA apps both automatically go into remote mode.

More bad news. You haven't needed one in WA since 2019. It didnt exist. What were you buying, and who were you giving $$$ to?
Apparently DC was buying the "Columbia River Endorsement" they sell around dusk at the Blue Creek boat launch. It also comes with a quick handie if you have any shrimp oil left over from your day..

Don Yakima wrote to the state in '83. To complain about said taxes related to Fish And Game Resources. Said taxes represented large sums prior in previous Tax Iterations. In various prior Tax Iterations previous Dividend Holders were PAID upfront. I took advantage of the loophole and screwed Vern Davis out of the money he had invested!!! When it was all going down i was in Full Focus on the financial details. Jeff Furlow the Legal Expert intimidated the jury with great Success. It was a big success with BIG PROFITS.
