So just bought my license online, and selected the mobile option, so it's always on my phone!

Everything went well, downloaded the app on my phone and soon on my other phone!

/RANT START
BUT:
The price went up about $20 with the state taxes! Still cheaper than skiing, golf, whatever...

I'm only annoyed since they are closing access to campgrounds, like Chopaka (see thread!) and bitching that it's because of "budget cuts!"

If it's really due to budget cuts, maybe they can take the extra money they're charging us to mitigate this shit! This comes from a lifelong "Blue" guy..

The amount isn't going to change my lifestyle, but that's not really the point! Anyway, /RANT OVER

Seacrest out!

The increase in license cost isn't even equal to inflation over the period since the last increase...

Yeah, the cost of everything is up. Licenses too. I am happy with the mobile option so I no longer need tote the 18 feet of receipt paper in my pockets for hunting/waterfowl/tags/steelhead punch cards/etc. etc. As an old guy, I'm confused about or ignorant of how or if I need a catch record card for steelhead/salmon anymore, and how to attach my federal duck stamp. I didn't get a catch record card for my idaho license either, maybe we're not doing that nonsense anymore?

Now, if I could just add a surcharge to my vehicle license to take the place of the bloody discover pass, I'd be happy. My dog and I are both happiest with fewer doo-dads (especially paper doo-dads) to manage.

Oh, and we also need the Columbia River (and tribs) $8 endorsement as of Jan. 1. It's good until the end of this month, and then we need another one. I fished the Cowlitz yesterday and didn't even think about needing the endorsement. Guess I was fishing under Traver's Main Amendment.

Ummm, what endorsement? All tributaries?

Didn't we used to have a special something or other for fishing the Columbia tribs a few years ago? Maybe it was just a separate punch card you had to get. I got my license yesterday and saw the CRSSE, but didn't realize it was actually a new fee. I just thought it was a new acronym.

Yeah, there was a Columbia River (and tribs) endorsement some years back that cost $10. It covered ESA fishery monitoring for places like the Methow steelhead season, when we had a season.

At least for now, Thankfully the endorsement is only for Salmon & Steelhead. When I do fish for salmon it's in PS, and I stopped harrassing Steelhead in the late 1990s.
