I always get a 'kick' out of discussions about alcohol that come up every 6 months or year. It is valuable time expended to see/feel others experiences/insights and the amount of support from other members. I am also grateful for the respect we give to one another in these discussions. I have yet to see 'my way or the highway' in this thread. By having these types of discussions it may open some eyes to alternatives or provide that extra 'boost' to change ones ways.
Normally these discussions are about changing our from current life styles. They are discussed the most because of individual experiences that have been experienced. From their POV - rightfully so. In many cases, it was because moderation was surpassed/exceeded. Yet the quiet majority I believe is continuing the current lifestyle. In many cases it is the right thing for them. Thank you for respecting others opinions/lifestyles.
At least everyone has been exposed to varying ideas.
There have been some discussions about drugs, pot, and vaping as being safer than alcohol. From my POV, there needs to be further scientific studies that are peer-reviewed with lots more data before statements like that should be treated as fact/gospel.
Moderation is key; that comes down to alcohol. drugs, sex, loud music, fast cars, religion, politics, just about anything we do. Death is about the only thing thing we can not moderate (I think).
I also want to thank all posters on this thread that stayed away of politics. I have had to bite my tongue so many times, it is a bleeding ulcer. But without that, the thread would of been locked so quickly we would all miss out the goodness this thread provided...
BTW: speaking of moderation, the moderation on this site is fantastic. Thank you
