Shanahan is Coach of the Year without a close second. What he has accomplished with a team comprised of as many second and third tier players as starters has been remarkable. The guts to call that receiver pass to MCC when the game was on the line and teetering was the call of the year.
πŸ€”

He has all the stars…. Purdy, CMC, Kittle, Warner, etc. and McDonald, who won the division has a bunch of no names and one receiver. Better record. Did it with an average or below average qb as some would say.

I think they should rename San Francisco Shan Francisco in his honor, and that play call was second only to D-Day in WW2, no it was probably better in terms of complexity and execution

They should just name him God and get it over with, as a 2nd best division record with 5 losses has never been done in the history of history.

Bigly....
😁🀣😁

stars? Purdy missed 8 games, Bosa gone for the year, Kittle 5 games and than goes down in the first quarter, starting LB's Warner and Bethune out of the year early, no #1 receiver all year, starting left guard out 5 games, 7 starters lost to free agency before the year even began, and in the game just played used players claimed off waivers in the past few weeks who weren't good enough to stay with their teams just to fill in at LB and Safety.
Which is the reason why retired NFL players and coaches across the networks are stating Shanahan has done the best coaching job this season.

kudos, you really do snark better than anyone else on the forum

I prefer the term verbal irony.

:)

Considering the Seahawks won almost double the games the odds makers had them doing a case could be made for McDonald, but TBH Vrabel should win it, he helmed the big turnaround

Good point. Yep...Vrabel probably deserves it the most. Johnson w/Chicago is another candidate that I would put in front of Shanahan. He has helped develop Caleb Williams into a top quality QB. These are not the Bears of the last decade, and he apparently really really hates the Packers so that's a plus too.

Spoken like a true Seachicken fan ,would expect no less .:D

Bears did a complete interior O line rebuild with Thuney, Dalman and Jackson...and Caleb's sacks went from 70 some to 20 some.

That's some good GM work in identifying and fixing a major issue.

There are at least half dozen who could be considered coach of the year with everything to back it up. Any of the obvious who took their teams from worst-ish to first-ish, plus you've got the Seattle guy who has elevated a team who many pundits had in 3rd. Shoot, even Payton who helped get Den into first when most pundits had them no better than 3rd in their division and not even making the playoffs. Even Harbaugh in LA who somehow got this team even into the playoffs with all of the injuries to O-line and very few top skill players....same with Shanahan in SF, just doing more with less. Lots of good coaching happened this year. Hell, you should just give it to Stefanski for having to put up with the garbage ownershit and GM of the Browns...

Texans are trying to give it away...Steelers just aren't really taking advantage....well, thanks to the Texans.

If Houston had an offense they'd be dangerous.
that's why Seattle is so dangerous. good O, great D....as much as I hate to admit it.....fuckin Seachickens.

Of all the games this weekend, these are the only two teams that don't seem like they belong. Every other game the teams looked like playoff teams. (except for maybe the Chargers)

Metcalf sucks. SEA was wise to get rid of him (setting aside the BS he pulled by punching a fan). biggest game of the year and at least 2 drops that I've seen....Pitt can't afford that the way TX D is playing overall.

Two of the main reasons pundits were saying Seattle would be bottom of the NFCW was because they shipped out Geno and Metcalf.

That take aged like milk.

First thing I’ll agree with you clarkman….DK does suck and I’m soooo glad he’s not a Hawk!! He could be a great player if he only had a brain…..
c'mon buddy, that can't be the first....at least second or third?
