What you watching. πŸ˜†

If you like Doc Martin on Public Broadcasting channel, there is a new show coming out sometime after January 1st. Basically, the same theme, but with a new cast. If you like dry English humor, this will be the Americanized version. Best Medicine on Fox.

Just finished the Rainmaker 10 episode series. I remember reading the John Grisham book when I was traveling alot for work. Watched the movie back in the 90's.

When a 3 hour movie is made into a 10 hour series. No bueno!

Watched Guillermo Del Toro's Frankenstein movie on Netflix. 9/10. Superb. Beatifully filmed, well-written, top notch acting and direction. I read Mary Shelley's original story decades ago, but from what I recall, this sticks to the source material pretty closely. Highly recommend.

It does run about 2.5 hours though.

I have had some extra time and have pulled up a couple flicks to watch at home.

#1 A++ β€œOne Battle After Another”
I feel like this move has a little something for everyone. Action, conspiracy intrigue, familial and friendship and romantic love and relationships, and some sci fi/Vonnegut style societal commentary through parallels. Great cast and story.

#2 D grade β€œSpinal Tap 2” They should have left near perfect well enough alone. Anything good in this is really just residue of the greatness of the original This Is Spinal Tap. I fell asleep.

just finished 'Mobland' on Paramount+...set in London, the plot a war between two absolutely maniac families portrayed by excellent actors...two big thumbs up

The Lowdown with Ethan Hawke, eight episode series with a Cohen Brothers vibe and a seriously good β€œAmericana” soundtrack. On FX on Demand or streaming on Hulu.
Really enjoyed this.

We arewatching a small series called Life on Mars on Britbox… it is a police show but weird and wonderful. We tend to mow through a lot of series… Vera- Strange Things,(to find out what her grandkids were being polluted by) Lincoln Lawyer, Repair Shop, call the midwife, downton abbey, Lynley, Lewis , Midsummer Murders, Inspector Morse, all the sherlock shows and repeats, inspector lynley Murders, agathy christies Marple… all I could recall… but then I needed memory practice…

remember watching that over a decade ago, well done and entertaining

in general much prefer English/ Euro content over American as they tend to be more realistic and less formulaic...as in if you managed to endure one series of CSI/Chicago whatever, etc, you've pretty much viewed the vanilla plot of all 40 or so of them

Exactly I abhor American entertainment

Man Down is one of the funniest show's I've seen in a long time. You need some access to BritBox but I go through Prime.

We watched every single Doc Martin they made so we're interested in watching the American version. From the trailers, it appears they copied Doc Martin quite well... also another brit series.

Mobland was excellent. Anything with Tom Hardy in it is worth the time. He was the frosting on the cake that was Peaky Blinders. Great show also.

β€œTrain Dreams” with Joel Edgerton on Netflix is worth every minute. Kind of dark but intense.
