October Caddis patterns?

Fall will be here sooner than we think, and the shorter daytimes and cooler temps will have trout eagerly looking for their favorite full meal deal. What’s your favorite October Caddis pattern (pupa or adult)?

Both of these work well for cutts

These are great - thank you! I’ve been trying to adapt a Fox Poopah, but as a dry with a hair wing. I’m still experimenting and know all too well that the fish have the only vote that counts! Nonetheless, I’ll post pics once I feel good about what I’ve got.

This stimulator pattern was sold by Kaufmann’s as a stonefly, but it worked exceptionally well as an October caddis imitation. I caught a lot of fish back in the day using this pattern.

I like some of the patterns that ScottP and Finluver tied, but the best pattern that I have used and tied came from Mike Sturza at Lost Creek fly shop in Onalaska. Disclaimer: I’ve only fished this on the Cowlitz in September and October but I’ve caught many steelhead and Searun cutts. Mikey ties it on a #4 Gamukatsu stinger hook. It uses Arizona sparkle dubbing. The company was sold to another distributor but you’ll have to call Mikey to find out who.

After numerous attempts at creating a smallish October Caddis adult dry the past couple days, I feel pretty good about this one. Imagine it as a cross between Don Johnson's Miracle Caddis and a Fox Poopah. If you were a fish, how would you react when it came drifting down a current seam?
