NFR Snow Shred Season 2024 - 2025

Non-fishing related
Baker lost a long-time local to snow immersion yesterday. Be careful out there!
That' sad to hear. Kinda like wading, easy to get in trouble if your not careful.
The powder in the trees is great, but tree wells do freak me out a bit. Thankfully the hill offered up my favorite stuff today; steep, deep, junky bumps.1000001758.jpg
If you're gear shopping the new HH Alpha jacket and Legendary bibs were freakin' great today.

This isn't PNW skiing, but had to be in Atlanta this week for work, and my layover would be in SLC anyway, so might as well make the layover become a few days and hit Snowbird and Snowbasin, right? Skied Sunday and Tuesday morning before heading to the airport Tuesday afternoon.

The mountain reported 6" new Monday morning. We're all sure it was more like 20" over the weekend. Powder runs and kid time made it easier not to think about smoking.

I feel for the Snoqualmie pass gnar schralpers.

Locally we should be ok until Sat night. All Cascade ski areas will share the moist by Sun. Wonder where the bullseye of the atmospheric river will hit?

I'm glad it didn't happen over P day weekend.

It was nice up there today, about 31F and snowing, a bit sloppy going over the pass. This is my year for new ski boots; the old classics' velcro cuff was failing and they'd end up flopping around and collecting snow.
Can't have that!

Waxables today.

Three decent days at White Pass this week. Paradise basin had good snow. The front side was a bit soft due to warm conditions at pass level. Larger crowd because of winter break for west-side schools. Going to be warm this weekend. A crew is starting to build the castle for the winter carnival.

Mikaela makes history again with 100th world cup gold, and in my opinion making her the greatest athlete in history!
Just a stagering accomplishment that will probably never be beaten, since he still has a lot of yrs left to compete, simply amazing!

Supposed to be 50 and sunny at Bluewood Friday. I think spring conditions are my fav. The boys school conferences have them so far ahead right now we're gonna pull them from school and reward them with a play day. They have been troopers sometimes this winter in tough conditions. So stoked to share some good weather skiing with them.
Do I get flamed for hot-spotting here?
