What's in your vise?

I think it’s called the Cigar, a European sea trout pattern. You’re correct, they fish it in the dark.
Can you or someone explain why dark colors work better in low light (and vice versa maybe)? It’s always been counterintuitive to me.

Usually on hooks 20 and below there is no point putting dubbing on shank but I tried. In general, this is kind of joke ... There is no place in fishing, for small flies like below. It is on size 26 Firehole :rolleyes: It is easier to make tenkara fly and works well.

I’m not so sure there’s no place in fishing for these. There are some spring creeks and tailwaters where these would be just the ticket at certain times…provided you had the 7.5X tippet to go with.
