That looks AMAZING! And delicious. My wife and I had traditional soba (pure buckwheat) last night with tempura. We're heading over to our daughters place later this morning for ozoni soup. It's fun to be able to shop in good Japanese markets and find quality Japanese foods for these traditional meals.View attachment 137630

NYE sushi dinner. Veggie tempura, a couple veggie rolls, spicy tuna roll and torched albacore belly.
I'm making a bo ssam pork shoulder for our New Years Day dinner. I did a shop at H-Mart yesterday and am making my ssam sauce now. This new to me brand of ssamjang is amazing and has no msg or long chemical names, unless most others:
Never heard of it, looked up a recipe (David Chang’s Momofuku). Looks fantastic, gonna have to make it.
You are not alone.
Hell yes! I currently have an open pack in the fridge and a backup for when that runs out. I occasionally find myself perusing the local Eastern European markets for the good stuff. I’m kind of a fiend

Is it possible they didn’t have any because they didn’t order any because nobody was ordering it?Good to hear!
I hear you. This was just a quick impulse buy as I saw it staring at me while at Freddy’s today. There are lots of better options out there but this will do for a quick fix. I wish I knew what brands I used to eat at my Russian and German grandparents house as a kid.
I’m also a big fan of liver and onions with some bacon of course. I was at the Poodle Dog recently and it was on their menu. The waitress came back and said “sir, I’m sorry but we are sold out of liver”. It was only 4:00 but definitely an older, eat dinner early crowd. Bless their hearts.

Go across the big road next time you’re at Poodle Dog. There are a few good options for liverwurst and other cured meats at Emish Market.Good to hear!
