Closed to fishing..not to fighting.
Behind the trailer park is always good, as is the local Mini Mart/Wal Mart.
Be creative, in a pinch you can always use the fly shop parking lot.
The flyshop parking lot brawl would mostly consist of old retired farts laying on the asphalt because they threw their backs out while engaging in a sissy slap boxing exchange.

But I'd kick ass, except for this damned bum leg.

A bar fight and a night or two in jail should be on a pre forty bucket list for any man of dimension and character. The most interesting men I know don't wonder about these things.
My Hapkido sensei used to claim the best defense in a bar fight was an excellent pair of running shoes...

be good to keep this thread about Ukraine without getting back into the personal political muck...no one's minds will ever be changed on a forum of how they view the past 5 years...if anything, it does offer a stark contrast between a democracy enduring a severe cultural clash and a democracy being literally invaded by motherfuc*ers who want to kill it....

I say hell with it. Nuke Moscow today. The sooner we do it the sooner the earth can start to recover. We've ruined all the good stuff anyway.
Man, that's dark.
There is a whole lot of good stuff out there.

It's better to be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and get your ass kicked.
:)

"Nymphing for steelhead isn't fly fishing!"

"The hell it is! You're using a fly rod!"

No personal or political implications intended. A splash of relevant levity was all that was intended.

"The authorities of the Republic of Poland, after consultations between the President and the Goverment, are ready to deploy – immediately and free of charge – all their MIG-29 jets to the Rammstein Air Base and place them at the disposal of the Government of the United States of America.

At the same time, Poland requests the United States to provide us with used aircraft with corresponding operational capabilities. Poland is ready to immediately establish the conditions of purchase of the planes.

The Polish Government also requests other NATO Allies – owners of MIG-29 jets – to act in the same vein."

Finally something official on getting Ukraine planes their pilots can fly 👆

Sorta like 'Wet Side Story', when the Wet Side Indicator Crew threw down against the Eastern WA Bobber Bunch....lots of ungainly portly dancing and pointless arguments about level leeches, hotspotting, and the Designated Hitter Rule.

And none of the combatants had enough hair to sport a greasy ducktail anymore.

I'll bet at least that many Americans supported going into Iraq on the premise that we sort of think there are WMD's there. There weren't, at least that we found, and we went to war for basically George's personal feelings and Cheney's financial gain. That doesn't mean those Americans are mean spirited. It means that they believe the bad information the government they trust gives them. Happens all the time and some believe the same lies over and over told different ways.
Dustin,
George the Younger allowed his administration to get backed into a corner by Cheney and Rumsfeld. Both who grew up in politics with his dad.
The late Gen. Colin Powell, then ambassador to the UN, later admitted as much and stepped away from political life soon afterwards.
Distasteful as it was for him, having served under him, I can almost guarantee you that he questioned the decision in private, but put his misgivings aside and did what his, president required of him.

Look you want to talk more about that hit me up privately. Lets get back to Ukraine
....

Krusty,
Sorry , but the image of "The one legged man in an ass kicking contest" came immediately to mind.😳

I don't disagree one bit with your above statements.

Hooray for getting more planes to Ukraine. But--How is this going to work? Poland gives their MIGs to the U.S., and the U.S. provides different planes back to Poland in exchange or to fill the gap? And then the U.S. gives the Polish MIGs to Ukraine? Why doesn't Poland just send the MIGs straight to Ukraine? It doesn't seem to preserve any appearance of not contributing arms, and we are doing that already anyway.

It's good for NATO to get rid of all existing Russian made fighters and replace with fighters used by western European and North American Air forces. This helps Ukraine and strengthens NATO air power in the long term.

Because if Poland gives all their miss to Ukraine, it's essentially their airforce. They just want some air capability, and we are the ones with that capability.
Everyone knows nato and other other countries are supplying arms, it's not a secret, been in the papers for a while now.

I've read Poland would get F16's and last gen F 15's in place of the MiG's.
But that exchange mechanism?? Extremely strange.
Defense Link News, via LinkedIn newsfeed, stated Monday that Poland will be buying M1A2 SeP V3's starting in 2 years. That's one generation behind what we are currently fielding to our own forces ( if you think you know M1, be prepared for a shock. The current iterations are light years different. Its basically a whole new tank)

Ok, I see what is going on. If you read further down article, it explains that Poland had just upgraded their MiG's and the more sensitive electronics would have to come out before transfer.

And, they're getting 30+ F35's in 2 years. With zero mentioned F15's like I parroted earlier.

POLITICO: 'Surprise move': U.S. stunned by Poland's fighter jet offer.

Thank you. So--"Some of the new, sensitive technologies installed on the MiGs would likely have to be pulled out before transferring to the Ukrainians." Is that because Ukraine isn't part of NATO and so aren't allowed to have that tech? Or do they not want to risk Russia capturing the transferred tech from Ukraine?

Could be, or because the tech is just too advanced and their pilots don't have the luxury of time to learn every bell and whistle. Not sure exactly.

we are witnessing a Tom Clancy novel in real time here......
