I do not know the demographics of this site but many have never been in a war nor seen the atrocities created by war. They do not have a frame of reference to relate to. Our older members that have been through WWII, Korean conflict, Vietnam war, etc. do not talk about it. They have seen it, lived it and survived it. They want to forget the unspeakable but never will be able to...
I think our news sources are doing a dis-service. Yes, they say it will get worse before it gets better. Then immediately show a 5 minute clip on refugees. Is that what people think it's going to be in the near future?
Show what happened in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Show what carpet bombing looks like in Iraq. Show what happened in Germany and UK during the air raids. Modern bombs, delivery mechanisms, artillery, planes and information sources of real time data is so much bigger, badder, faster, more accurate, more lethal it will put to shame what has been done in the past. That is what we are trying to avoid!
Lets hope the current and next generation do not have to live and remember what war is about like our current living generations have been through.
Peace and prosperity for all...
I think the families and friends of the 7000+ U.S. servicemen killed in Iraq and Afghanistan the last 20 years might disagree with this assessment. Most of them later phase Gen X’rs and millennials.
