I like the bead behind the hackle; I don't see this style of "beadhead" as often as a bead in front of the hackle (or maybe I'm just unobservant?). Sometimes I don't want a bead.View attachment 130416
It’s like the same thing, but different
Anybody else tie soft hackles like this?

Bet that wakes very well!!!Thunderthighs Muddler

I super glue the foam together on Triangle flies like that.View attachment 130483
A little bluegill popper that’s simple on paper but really clumsy to tie, at least for me
I wish I had some! That was my first one, the next few I got the hang of and was able to tie them so the foam was much closer together. Thanks for the tip!I super glue the foam together on Triangle flies like that.
They make a bunch of commotion on the water surface and the pan fish can't swallow the whole fly. They worked ok for a pond fly for me. @Northern has a gurgler-type fly that I like better.I wish I had some! Do these things fish pretty good?
Not good mods. The knotted rubber just fouled the pine squirrel, and really just killed the movement. Palmer didn't work right, should have stripped one side and worked harder to make it flow back like a spey fly. My regular version worked fine.Trying some mods to the jiggy craw after watching some videos, knotted pinchers, moved the grouse aft, imitation wood duck palmer and scud back. Probably more effort than it's worth.

Noticed I was so fixated on getting the wire through the palmer I didn't wrap the scud back. Oh well, next one, maybe.
The fish are most likely ambivalent regarding the lack of consistency.consistency is not my forte.
In fact, they are consistently ambivalent...The fish are most likely ambivalent regarding the lack of consistency.
