Rain

Hopefully there are a bunch more in the estuary and the Sound just waiting to push up and happily find some flies to chomp.
Ya. I hope we get a few more good pushes and some emergency openings. That said, Coho seem reasonably to very snappy with the current flows.

Agreed.
Used to catch big, bright coho in January while steelhead fishing in certain systems. It could still happen today but unfortunately those systems are closed to salmon and steelhead fishing now at that time. I know some here have mentioned seeing coho into March.

Have had torrential downpours the last few days; even a reported tornado touchdown in a nearby town. And, the mountains are turnin’ white with snow. What’s not to love about this time of the year.

Well ain't that just ducky...
🥶☹️

Yuppp. Been bone dry and warm since July and somebody flipped the switch last week. The snow in the hills and the rutting season have brought the blacktails down in large than usual numbers; some nice looking bucks wandering around with ' bedroom' eyes. It also brought a large kitty (mother cougar and cubs) into our neighborhood. I saw her just outside my fence line 2 days ago... such a beautiful animal. Im sure it's no coincidence that there's a small doe with it's throat ripped out lying on my neighbors property. We're taking our dog out on a leash to do his business until she and her brood move along.

80 degrees yesterday and 70+ today her in the Poconos, bone dry as well - we are under a red flag warning - hopefully some rain next week.

Sunday night (or was it Monday morning?) my wife and I woke up to wind gusts (according to phone apps) over 50 mph. Wind was blowing across Grays Harbor directly into the beach front of the cabin we'd rented. Rain, saltwater, eelgrass, sand (lots of sand), conifer needles and countless other "stuff" were hurled against the cabin (and our car). I guess you might call it dirty rain? Loud? Oh yeah. It was pretty cool hearing it and as dawn came, seeing what nature was offering us. The power went out but I'd already made a pot of coffee so we read, watched the storm and enjoyed the view. I don't think any charter boats left Westport that morning! Rain? Oh yeah! The Hump was dirty but Grass Creek and oysters from Lytles were spot on!
