I fished combinations of these

The whether was cool and it rained a little and there were healthy cutthroat in the 8-12” range everywhere.
Those are beautiful buggy patterns that cover a lot of food items and that pool looks so, so fishy, I hope you did well. I've do doubt you did :)

Nice fly selection :) That water looks superb as well, especially with some clouds and rain, sweet.
Those patterns and the partridge and orange are my go to flies and they’re all versions of what you fish. Thank you!
I tied and fished some bead head hare’s ear as well but had a hard time getting the leader/tippet to straighten out when casting. I’m not sure if my tippet was too fine or my casting is just on the wrong side of mediocre so I’ll have to keep experimenting before that makes it into the rotation.

I fish a lot of 3x to cast my bead head rigs, sometimes maybe 4. Long and thin at the end and it might not have the energy to turn over, especially with several flies on droppers. I also find I need to make sure I get a good stop on the forward cast and not a lazy drift down.

I’ve been using a 3x leader cut to 4’5” with a tippet ring and 18” of 3x to 30” of 4x. It’s been working well for unweighted flies up to size 10. I figured I’d try 18” of 3x to 30” of 3x and see if that helped.
Most likely it’s poor casting and I just need to keep working on it.

That leader should work fine, I'll always be working on the casting part too.

Sadly, I left it in the mouth of a carp that tried to go to the Pacific Ocean!

Muddler morning.

When not fishing one drifted or skated dry (thanks again for the Froggs Fanny @Zak ), I fished one swung and stripped deep with a bead head grhe on a dropper for weight.

Fished some copies of flies from Rob Denson's site, the Skara Monger up top, and I used a Muddled Buggered Hares's Ear as a trailing fly. Put the BHGRHE in the middle.

Had a third one on, and I swear I heard this middle sized one say "That Sam sure has a way of bailing on us just before it all gets really shitty, doesn't he".
