2024 Bison Score

The population has lived with safety ropes and regulation so long through their smart phone that they've lost their instincts. Primitive man while befuddled by an iPhone would know immediately that the bison are not to trifle with. They had natural selection to guide them. I say we make natural selection a thing again. No more ropes, no more warning signs, no more idiotic signs stating the obvious. We need a MAIN AMENDMENT. People need to learn the hard way about AGGRESSIVE wildlife. Anymore I watch Yellowstone videos begging to see mass casualties and carnage. Death by selfie is not a warriors way to go. There is no honor in it so it's fitting the idiots meet their end this way.

Ok… Chromers… a little extreme… warning signs and ropes are a good thing, especially for parents with children. The rest of your thoughts are spot on, a couple years ago there was a study that was brought to our attention in training that humans are actually losing intelligence due to technology.

Root Cause: Some people are complete idiots. No matter how hard the safety-minded experts try, they will never be able to protect people from themselves.

No, ropes and warning signs only serve to reverse natural selection. I don't need a fence at Nooksack falls to let me know to watch my ass when near the abyss. As for children go, it's always been the case in natural selection that the intelligent and vigilant will have successful offspring rearing. Those that don't must breed like rabbits to ensure their genetics are passed on.

This was my favorite moment from my last trip. One of many touring moments witnessed. Why not get close enough to a sow black bear with cubs to spit in it. My other favorite site (witnesses multiple times) was a college aged kid lying in the grass 20 or a deer from a bison, phone extended likely talking to their 2 TikTok followers…

Ahhh the blond spandex crowd… her white Range Rover must be out of frame.

Like a hatchery fish...or a plug rod fish.

Nobody brags

Wonder if Bison say :
'Clothes on the horns or it didn't happen' when sittin' around BS ing after a long day of eating grass ?

Looks like Home Depot decided to get in on the action. Imagine people who survived a good goring now being able to buy their own bison trophy to commemorate the event.

What a maroon! I guess this is the kind of person that thinks meat comes from a white Styrofoam box in the store.

I've only visited Yellowstone once, way back in the fire year of 1987, and people were idiots with buffalo and moose even then. One evening I was camping in my pup tent at a campground, and in the middle of the night, my tent pegs all along one side were pulled up and my tent fell over. I scrambled out of the tent to see a buffalo butt ambling away from me; he or she had gone to the tree next to my tent to scratch, then wandered off, pulling my tent pegs out as it passed by. I collected fur from that tree and still have it somewhere!
Friendly correction ...fires of '88.
I spent the summer working construction at Old Faithful. We stayed on the big day when most everyone was evacuated. From the safety of the parking lot we watched the fire miraculously burn around complex.

Then again and by comparison, to DC’s point of outdoor savvy evolution…parenting skills may improve. Just a thought… 😉

I was in Yellowstone a week ago. Was passing through the Norris area when a huge group of cars were pulled over and people jumping out of their cars. I passed by and could see a huge griz in the tree line. I warned a group that were walking up to the tree line to stay the hell back and that the griz was within 75 yards of them. To no avail, the idiots wanted to get closer to get a look. There were alot of bears out that week.

Not a fine.. lifetime ban from all national parks, subject to arrest for atrempting to enter after ban for anyone intentionally moving towards dangerous wildlife..
No, because it's unnecessary. Natural and logical consequences can work this out. This is simply an example of the kinds of circumstances where stupidity can be its own - natural and logical - reward.

The reference to kids here is pretty interesting. Nothing has expanded my mind or pushed back harder against preconceived notions more than becoming and being a dad. So many things that used to seem simple and clear, maybe black and white, sure seem to have a lot of gray tones now. It’s hard to explain. But you don’t get to pick what kind of kid you have. There are certainly ways to (try to) force them to be certain ways. They have their pluses and minuses, that’s for sure.
