Push mowers don't blow up after their warranty runs out.About an acre and a half of lawn here…not enough beer at the store for me. Currently using a Kubota zero turn. It has a Kawasaki twin for power. Easily the best mower I have owned.
Last rider I had had a Briggs and Stratton engine. It basically blew up a few days after the warranty ran out. Briggs and Stratton told me to pound sand when I asked for help. Kinda sad when a company that shares your last name won’t stand behind their products. I will never buy anything powered by a Briggs and Stratton motor again.
I will never have experience to comment one way or the other. To much lawn, to little time.Push mowers don't blow up after their warranty runs out.
Checkmate.
Oh man! With proper care, even a cheap-o push mower will last you 20 years.I will never have experience to comment one way or the other. To much lawn, to little time.
I rebuilt the piece of shit Briggs and Stratton motor and got another six years out of it before the rest of the mower started falling apart.
We are playing two different games.
Likely last a forty or fifty years at my place because it would never get used. Again, two different games. While you are still pushing your toy mower around I’ll be at the tavern drinking beer and watching the Kraken win game two.Oh man! With proper care, even a cheap-o push mower will last you 20 years.
Well, hopefully, while you sit there sipping on your oat soda, counting up all the icing calls, you'll think of me, shirtless, sweaty and gritty, getting 'er done. No-noise toys bringing the joys, boys.Likely last a forty or fifty years at my place because it would never get used. Again, two different games. Honda mowers purchased at the big box stores are definitely inferior to the ones bought at Honda dealers. Probably why they are cheaper?Honda motors are great the rest-sucks...
Thread drift, but New York State?Waiting to see what sort of property we end up buying in NY State, got my eye on a 10 acre chunk of farmland - looking at the various electric riding mowers, would like a tractor mower - will need lotsa batteries though!! Prices will hopefully come down before we make a buy (could be a while yet).
Cheers
Thread drift, but New York State?
Someone could pay me to live there, I would even mow the lawn...Best cutting fine turf mower I ever used was a Cal trimmer front throw...sharpening the blades was a pain in the ass, but for high quality turf maintenance they are hard to top.
Most folks do not have the turf that would require one though.

Gene, I won't leave the sight, I'm currently in North Carolina in case you weren't keeping up. If we do get a property in New York, you will at least get reports from me from the some fine eastern trout streams - skinny water. I'll have to brush up on my Catskill tying though. What?? Not just East Coast. In 2021 California passed a law essentially banning all small gas powered motors starting next year:NY is trying to or in process of banning gas powered small engines including mowers and leaf blowers. You maybe going electric sooner than you think...
